One Month Old

On September 27 Kara will be one month old. It's hard to believe that it's already been a month! Going to the hospital every day really made the month fly by.
Today (September 26) Kara was officially cleared of the jaundice and doesn't have to have any more blood work. Praise the Lord! We are sooooo thankful for that.

Kara is trying to lift up her own head now, and is working on smiling. She has started to "coo" and makes sounds like ah and aw. She is more alert now, and stays awake a good portion of the day. Fortunately for us, she still sleeps a good portion of the night!

Mommy loves Kara!

It looks like Kara is a toy doll here.

Playing on her JOHN DEERE playmat.

Trying to learn how to smile! :)

Tummy time...

After her first official bath. She loved it, can't you tell.

Kara Updates

Here's a picture for the grandparents!

(If you can't read the shirt it says- My heart belongs to gramma and grampa)

You might not be able to tell, but her socks say I Love Grandpa!

Sleeping in her swing.

Thinking really hard about something.

I LOVE pictures of yawning babies!

Its like they're thinking- "I'm soooo tired! I didn't get all 22 hours of sleep today!"

And, ta-da! Fast asleep.

Everyone keeps asking how much/what color hair she has..... here it is.

Mommy holding Kara after a late night feeding....

note all of mommy's snacks on the end table!

She looks kind of angry in this picture, but really she was just tired. She fell asleep with her arms crossed like this- see the picture below.

Kara and Daddy touching noses!

(She looks really yellow next to Daddy's pale skin!)

This is Kara's first shopping trip. I love the expression on her face!

Currently, Kara is still struggling with the jaundice, but it has started to level off and is starting to slowly-ever so slowly- come back down.

We are still having to go and get her heal pricked and her blood drawn to check her jaundice levels. Now they are letting us go every other day, instead of every day.

We are really enjoying our "little- bundle- of -awesome." She is such a wonderful blessing!

Kara's First Week

Here's what's been happening in my first week of life.....

I'm ready to go home from the hospital.

Here I am at home for the first time.

Nervous because I have to go back to the hospital because I'm a little jaundice.

We had to stay another night in the hospital because of the jaundice. I got to sleep in this nice warm box, but mommy and daddy had to share a tiny little hospital cot.

It was like being on the beach....

This is what I had to "wear" while I was in the box with all the warm lights. Every time mommy and daddy would take me out of the box I would start to shiver.

They sent me home with a bili-blanket that I have to wear all the time. Here is mommy holding me and my glow worm. (I'm pretty sure she thinks I'm cuter than the glow-worm!)

Daddy and me hanging out after a diaper change while mommy gets my bili-blanket ready!

My tummy was soooo full after eating that I fell asleep on Mommy.

Currently I am still on the bili-blanket with a little bit of jaundice. I have to go back to the hospital every day and have my heal pricked to have my blood checked. That makes my Mommy cry. But I am slowly getting better, so hopefully soon I wont have to have to bili-blanket, or have to have blood work every day.
