4 years ago today

4 years ago today God blessed us so richly with the birth of our sweet Kara.
Not a day has gone by that we have not thanked Him for this precious gift.

Daddy has class/work/class all day today so he literally got to see the birthday-girl for about an hour.
He took her on a lunch date to make up for not getting to spend much time with her today.

Birth minute picture.

We are waiting to do her presents and cake until her grandparents come in this weekend, so more birthday pictures to come later.
In the mean time, maybe you noticed the adorable dress Kara is wearing?  I made it!

These are probably my favorite thing I've made so far.
They were super easy and I didn't mess up at all.
They do seem a little plain to me so I'll be adding ribbons or bows later, but for now, they'll work.

They are such goofy little girls.

Being silly.

Her attempt at being silly like sister.

I made a shirt for myself. I wasn't going to take a picture because I didn't like the way it turned out but my daughters insisted so here it is. (Photo courtesy of my 4 year old. She was saying, "No mom, you have to stand like this and say 'Cheese!'")

Life as usual

I realized I've been posting sewing pictures lately and I haven't posted many regular pictures.

~

Enjoying the last few days of summer before Daddy has to go back to school.

Snuggles

Kitty rides with mama!

How is it possible that we've lived here for a year and have never gotten snow-cones at the school???

Kara made her bunny into a princess.

My helper putting away dishes.

One of the girls favorite games to play right now is "spotter."
 You know, binoculars... spotter.

Kara said, "Mom, take a picture of me standing like this."

Lexi's reading to BabyBear.
(See BabyBear's shirt?  I made it!)

She loves sour cream.

I'm not kidding... she LOVES sour cream.

I made a purse!

Complete with inside pocket!
(My own little addition. It wasn't on the pattern.)

Or, you can put the straps inside.

She loves to do school.
We've starting working on numbers and lowercase letters.
She is so eager to learn!

When she runs out of room she just starts putting letters anywhere they'll fit.

How cute does Lexi look with all of her hair up?

My sweet husband makes breakfast for us almost every Saturday.

One of our neighbors gave us some cookies cutters.
So, of course we had to try them out right away.

Family Pictures
8/12/12

Kara has learned how to fake smile.
Gee,  I wonder where she got that from?
Oh, wait...  there's me fake smiling too....

I couldn't decide which I liked better.
The first picture or this one.

Kara drew daddy.

Lexi also drew daddy.
(Or anything else that Kara draws.)

My little chef and I made some banana bread one night when Lexi went to bed early.

Helping measure and pour ingredients has become one of her favorite things to do.

She can even help crack the eggs.

 She likes to watch it....

...and taste it!

You have to do something while you wait for it to bake.

Lexi's best friend.

That is one handsome man!
(He got to play golf for the first time in about 3 years, with friends from church.)

"Mom, how can I write mouse?"

Giving sister a ride.

I made the girls some vests.
I didn't have a real pattern. I just altered a dress pattern.
I intended for them to be reversible but...  well... they aren't.
I tried it different on each vest and just couldn't figure out how to get all the seams on the inside.

Showing off their new vests.

(I really only put this one on here because they are standing up fairly straight and you can see the height difference between them.)
(Also, I think it's cute.)
