End of January Pictures

Five months old today!
So cute!
Great Grandma Lougene likes the ruffles on Kara's pants. Unfortunately every time we are around G.G. Kara messes on her ruffle pants and we have to change before G.G. can see her wearing them. So, here she is wearing ruffles just for G.G.
We love you, G.G.

Kara loves her daddy so much.

One of Kara's new favorite things to do is play "peek-a-boo."

"Where's Mommy?"

"Peek-a-Boo!"

Sometime in the next month, we are going to start her on rice cereal and maybe a few other baby foods. Just to see what she'd do, we let her play with a spoon.

Then she made another new discovery: she passed the spoon from one hand to the other. At her 4-month dr's appointment, her dr asked if she could do that yet, and at that time she couldn't. But she is a little smarty and knows how to now!

While moving the furniture in Kara's room we found a pair of really cute pink overall's that had somehow fallen behind the dresser. She hadn't ever even worn them. So, since they were too small, I dressed her in them for just a few pictures.

Like I said, we were moving furniture in Kara's room, because we finally got to set it up, and make it her room.

Playing on the rug in her room.
Bored while Mommy does the laundry.

More laundry...
If you don't fold the laundry quick enough, Kara eats it!

Kara got a tent for her baby shower last August, and is just now getting to play in it.
Mommy crawled inside to show how big it is.

Kara's thinking, "I wish Abby, Emma, and Gabe could have a slumber party with me!"

Here's an important tip all baby's should know:
If you poop on your clothes, Mommy has to clean it out!
Playing in the kitchen while Mommy makes dinner for a sick friend.

Then we took the food to our friends house and Kara got to play with her friends:
Dakota, Matthew, Maria, Joseph, Elijah, and Faith.

Bandages on her legs from getting her shots. :(
(Notice how she's sticking her tongue out, she didn't like the shots either!)

Kara LOVES her daddy.

We're not entirely sure if Kara is teething or not, but she sure likes to chew on stuff. We gave her this empty sippy cup to chew on. She would bite down on it, and hold it in her mouth sticking straight out like this!

This is the face she makes when the sippy cup pops out of her mouth.

One of my friends has a picture similar to this, so I tried to copy it with Kara.

I know this is a little blurry, but I love the expression on her face.
Because we had our Christmas tree up, Kara's swing had to be pushed aside for a while. When I was taking the tree down, I put her in the swing to keep her entertained. I think she forgot how much she likes it. She just sat there mesmerized by the rocking motion.

(Cute smile)
VIDEOS

We were finally able to set up Kara's room!

Kara learned how to roll from her back to her tummy, and now we can't hardly keep her on her back. I have to be super quick with the camera or I'll miss the roll!

Playing...

Look how Kara was sleeping during her nap today!

Since I'm not very computer savvy, I can't figure out how to email videos. Therefore; I have to keep uploading them on the blog. This is from today. (2-4-09) I honestly think she gets cuter every day!

Early January Pics

New videos at the end of this blog!
Kara wants to wish Papa Steve a happy birthday!
We love you, Papa!

If Kara wasn't so cute I wouldn't have to take so many pictures!

Ever sat in a box before?

Kara discovered that she can make her voice louder and softer.
On the day that I took these next three pictures, she was "yelling" all day.
Still trying to talk really loud to get my attention.

Playing with Monk-Monk.

I LOVE her smile in this picture!
Kara has started sleeping in her own room at night. This is the face of an upset baby.

Playing on the tractor Grandpa and Ya-Ya got her for Christmas.

Can't hardly take her eyes off Daddy.

Preston was playing with Kara, and moving his face closer and farther away from her face.
Every time he would get close to her face she would make a sound that sounded like a high-pitched "Yah." It was so funny that Preston and I were both laughing so hard we were crying!
(Click on the picture to make it larger and you can see both of their expressions!)
We've been trying to do daily devotions with Kara. We are fairly certain that she'll have her mom's personality though, because she can't sit still long enough for a whole Bible Story.

Kara rolls! I tried to get a good series of rolling pictures,
but she usually gets distracted by the camera mid roll.

"Thank you for my picture, Mama Lynn!"

Kara's 'Lord Of The Rings' moment.
"My precious!"
Wearing a pretty dress for church.

Two sleepy Hoffmans.

Kara and Mommy dressed alike!

"Milk Enthusiast"

I went to check on Kara while she was napping, and she was sleeping with her ankles crossed. So I ran to grab my camera, but when I got back, they weren't crossed the same, but it was still cute.

You know what happens if you wake up from your nap too early?
You get to help mommy pay bills!
We had a hand-me-down pair of shoes that I decided to let Kara try out. They were a little too big, so she only wore them for a few minutes.

At first she didn't even notice she had shoes on...

...but once she noticed them...

... they captured her full attention!

Here's another series of rolling pictures.

Then, of course, she always wants to make sure I saw her do it.

Just a cute picture.
I learned how to upload videos! However, it took about 20 minutes to upload just one video, and as I don't have an abundance of patience, I probably wont be uploading very many more. (Unless I discover a quicker way to upload them.)
So, here is Preston tickling Kara and making her laugh.

(Ok, I had to add one more ...)
(I might be addicted to uploading videos now...)
It took me all day to get a video of Kara rolling over,
but I was finally quick enough to get it...
(Well, most of the roll anyways.)
