New Things

One of Kara's new favorite things to say is "ah" sounds. While I was on the phone with my dad the other day, I put him on speaker phone so he could talk to Kara. Dad said, "Papa loves you!" To which Kara replied, "Ah-Ah!"
In this video you can hear her say "ah-ah." Ah-ah can be translated to papa, mama, grandpa, ya-ya, or Charlie depending on who she's talking to.
Kara can now drive tractors.

She can pull herself up onto her feet. Usually she just pulls up onto her knees.

A couple days ago, Kara learned how to stick her tongue out on command, instead of just by accident. On the day she learned how to do this, she spent the majority of the day with her tongue stuck out.

We went to a friends house last week and they got out some blocks for Kara to play with. She sat there and played with them for a long time. So we decided she would probably like some of her own. The wooden blocks said they were for ages 18 months and older. These blocks said 6 months and older. I don't think she cares if they're wooden or plastic, as long as she can bang them on something and hear that noise!!

Kara's First Trip To The Park.

On Saturday (March 21) we took Kara to the park for the first time. She really enjoyed it, but she looks upset in the pictures because she was squinting from the sun.

All Videos

Kara likes to yell to get Charlies attention, and then she'll laugh once he looks at her.

Now that's restraint! Charlie wants the ball so bad.

She's really discovered the art of yelling.

Preston made this video.

Trying to get her to say "da-da" so that Preston could see/hear her do it.

I was playing with Kara a few days ago and I sneezed. She laughed so hard that I kept doing pretend sneezes just to hear her laugh. (Sorry it's sideways. I forgot that you can't rotate the videos. OOPS!)

Where did my little baby go?!?! She use to just lay there. Then she started to roll over. Then all of the sudden she could crawl. Now she can push up onto her feet! :(

Making Daddy and Grandpa proud. Loving the John Deere.

(Listen closely. When the music stops she hums for me to start it again!)

Kara and Charlie the Cat (Formerly known as Calvin)

It was almost 80 degrees outside today, so Kara and I went out to enjoy it.
She's never sat outside before, and at first she didn't know what to think. But that only lasted for about 3 seconds, until she realized she could pull the grass- which of course, is a lot of fun.

Kara can crawl!!!

Hanging out with Monk-Monk.
The animals are all lined up waiting for their turn with Kara. (See the smug look on the face of the giraffe that she's holding!) Everyone wants their turn to play with Kara.

Kara's playing with the reflection of the light. She would try to grab it, then she would move her head and block the light. Then she'd look around like, "Where did it go?" Then she'd move her head a little and it would show back up, so she'd try to grab it again.

Laughing at Mommy's hair.
Usually I wear my hair up, so when I leave it down she likes to play with it.

Her grandma's think she's a little doll.

Being tickled by daddy.

Check out my hair.

Peeking at mommy through the exsersaucer.

(She was talking in this picture, that's why she has that expression on her face.)
Ok, that's boring. Back to playing.

Baa!! I'm a sheep! Baa!!

Sometimes being mobile has its downfalls.
Taking a bath.
Playing with a paper towel roll.

We adopted a cat. His name was Calvin, but we changed it to Charlie. The mama cat was abused and tortured. He was a rescued kitten. Charlie was born on August 7-only 20 days before Kara!He is an excellent cat so far, and Kara absolutely loves him.

Charlie... when he was still Calvin.
Fish

Hamsters

YAY! Charlie gets to come home with us.

Kara and Charlie trying to figure out what they think of each other.

Best friends already.

Watch Charlie! I can crawl!!

Something Preston's parents thought they'd never see.

Charlie will be across the room from Kara and she'll make all kinds of squawking noises until he comes to her and then she'll laugh and laugh.
