Last fall, Preston and I started talking about possibly trading our durango for a mini-van to better accommodate our family and to get better gas mileage. We didn't pursue it at that time because we are trying to eliminate all debt and wanted to pay cash for the new vehicle. In January, Preston went to the pastors conference in Jacksonville Florida. While there he ran into some friends from Nebraska. Somehow in conversation it came up that our friends son would have a van for sale in May. We told them to keep our name in mind if their son did indeed decide to sale it. Then we prayed like crazy that all the details would be worked out in God's Kingly way and timing. Fast-forward to Mid-May and we get a phone call from our friends in Nebraska saying that their son is willing to sale us the van for $2,000 and that our friends would pay for half. We put our durango up for sale on May 24, and FOUR DAYS later, on my birthday, it sold! Excellent birthday present if you ask me!! So, we loaded up and drove to Nebraska to pick up the van.
We weren't even 30 minutes into our trip when this one got car-sick. :(
So, we bought some Kid's Dramamine and had no tummy issues after that.
We stopped in Kansas and had lunch some friends and their new baby.
(She was born on Preston's birthday! How fun is that??)
Once we got to Nebraska, some friends, Bob and Mary, graciously let us stay at their house.
Watching a movie.
It was great to get to go back to our church and see everyone again.
Kara was especially excited to see her best friend, Micah.

We took the girls to the same park that we use to take them to when we lived there.
Walking with Bob and Mary.
Holding hands! :)
We also had dinner with the Kubes family.
Then we started the long drive home with our new van!
On one of our gas-stops. Mostly I just put this picture on here because I like Lexi's smile.
The answer to a prayer.
Welcome to the family, van.
Kara wrote her name.
Preston's family has a reunion every year in June. So, the day after we got home from Nebraska, his family came. Here are the girls anxiously waiting for them to arrive. (See the cowboy on the horse? hehe.)
They took us to a place called Going Bonkers.
It's basically a big indoor playplace with slides and things to climb on.
Sharing Grandpa's popcorn.
Both girls fell asleep on the drive home after a day of Going Bonkers.
Then we went to Tyler for the family reunion.
The girls playing after lunch.
The next day we went Fossil Rim which is a drive-through safari.
I braided the girls hair so it wouldn't be hot on their necks.
The girls liked sitting in Grandpa's lap and getting to help him drive.
The animals came right up to the car for us to feed them.
Half-way through there was a petting zoo.
Lexi liked the big turtle.
Petting the goats with cousin Kindel.
Back into the car to finish the safari.
Kara wasn't sure she liked the animals sticking their heads right next to her.

I'd imagine this is every hunters dream.
Lexi got to help drive too.
Grandpa and YaYa also took us to the waterpark but I didn't bring the camera since I didn't want to worry about it getting wet or lost.
We had such a good time with Preston's family while they were here.
Two left-handed girls.
Happy Father's Day Preston, Grandpa, and Papa Steve!
We love you!!!
