Preston bought me a fancy sewing machine for our anniversary.
About a week ago, one of our neighbors gave me a basic sewing lesson.
I've been a sewing maniac ever since then.

Project #1
Two tiny pillows.
Gotta make two because, you know, I have two kids.
(Ignore this little disaster. Yes, I sewed right off the fabric. Oops.)
Project #2
His shirt is a little tight but hey, it beats being naked!
I forgot to leave a little extra room for his tail, so his pants are a bit saggy in the back.
Because who doesn't want flannel pajamas, in Texas, in the middle of July?
Project #3
I tried to leave a little extra room for his tail this time, but it still didn't work. Oh well.
Bubby's arms come right out of his neck.
Makes it really difficult to sew arm/neck holes.
So, his t-shirt became a tube top.
Project #4
I wanted to practice applique.
Kara's shirt had some stains on it.
I just covered them right up.
Close up.
Since you can't just make one kid a "new" shirt, I made Lexi one, too.
Close up.
Project #5
A piano cover
My model showing it off for me saying, "Ta-Da!"
Close up.
Close up.
Reverse side.
Project #6
My first attempt at making clothes for the girls!
Lexi's skirt.
Kara's skirt
Kara trying on her new skirt.
Lexi trying on her new skirt.
They are so excited!
Kara drew a lion.
(The light from the window is reflecting on it.)
Kara loves to write her letters.
I've been trying to show her that when the letters are put together they make words.
While I was getting supper ready Kara wrote these letter all by herself!
Nothing is sweeter to my ears than hearing my girls speak the name of Jesus.
Lexi's is on the left, mine is in the middle, and Kara's is on the right.
After I drew mine, Kara added Jesus's owies.

Close up of Kara's.
