While Kara was painting this picture she was telling me a story. I wrote it down as fast as I could so that I could share it with you.

"The blue bug will go into the cocoon and after two weeks he will pop out of the egg and be a butterfly! He will flap his wings and he will get caught in a net. The butterfly eats kind of like fruit and a lizard eats flies. His name is Kooey. But the blue butterfly is not here. He lives outside in the cocoon." as told by Kara 6-27-12
Waving to daddy as he leaves for work in the morning.
The last of our pecan supply before we ate them.
I wasn't feeling very good so I laid down after dinner.
A sure way to get your kid's attention is to lay down and look comfy.

(But truthfully I l.o.v.e times like this.)
Ya-Ya had some of some sewing things like these in her car when they came to visit last month.
Kara kept asking me for "the string like this (moving her hand up and down.)"

I couldn't figure out what she was talking about until we saw these in the clearance section and Kara screamed so loud the man on the moon heard her got really excited.
Let me show you the definition of true love.
I could easily do the dishes by myself in 2.5 minutes without any water splashed on the floor/shirt/cabinet/wall etc...
But Lexi loves (and I literally mean LOVES) to wash dishes so I let her help me and it takes at least 20 to 30 minutes and then an extra few minutes cleaning up all the water. But it's all worth it to hear her say, "I helper you mom!"

Second picture of true love. Sometimes we buy corn just so the girls can (husk? shuck? peel? I still don't know this!) it.
You're looking at thousands of those silk strings falling on the ground. We got wise after this picture and started (husking? shucking? peeling? someone please tell me!) the corn outside.

Our precious girls
Wearing dad's work shirt.
She gets to do lots of exploring when she doesn't have to ride in the stroller on walks.
Not really sure what she's doing but it's awful cute.
Kind of blurry but this is the girls sitting on the steps of daddy's school.
(You may have to click on it to make it larger to get the full effect.)
She pushed the chair over and started eating the tomatoes. Not the cookies, not the brownies, not even the crackers, but the tomatoes! (See it in her hand and on her chin.)
Girl after my own heart!!!
Maybe you've asked yourself, "Gee, I wonder what Rachel and her girls do all day?"
Well, wonder no longer.
Well, wonder no longer.
We read. Lots and lots of reading.
These are some of my favorite moments!
I am certain that my parents never would have guessed that their rocket-shoes, wreaking havoc, can't sit still, Rachel would have kids that love to read, but the proof is in the pudding.. er.. pictures.
I've started exercising....again. Don't laugh. This time I really mean it. It's been 3 straight weeks. I don't even break a sweat doing sit-ups anymore.
(I'm sure I look less like the gal on the TV and more like the gal on the floor.)
These girls are such a delight to us.
Ok, so we tried it. We tested Kara's milk allergy and gave her ice-cream.
Fail.
You can't see it too good in the picture but she still broke out in a rash and later told us her tummy really hurt.
Thankfully, no milk issues with Lex. :)

Every now and then when you're having one of those days when you feel like you are surely the worst parent ever, God gives you a little glimpse that perhaps you're doing something right. I had one of those moments the other day with a little peek into Kara's tender heart. For the past several weeks she's been asking if we can go to the circus. So, the other day when she asked again I was trying to explain that it takes a lot of money and daddy has to work real hard for our money, etc... so Kara went into the kitchen, got down her kitty-bank, handed it to me and said, "Mom, let's put my money's in Daddy's pocket so we can go to the circus." (I still get a little lump in my throat just typing it. She is so sweet!) (Oh, and FYI, we are planing on taking her to the circus for her birthday but aren't telling her so we can surprise her.)
