Kidisms

Kidisms
The girls say such cute things that I have been trying to remember to write them down and save them for later. You know, like Mary treasured up all these things in her heart? Well, I’m  treasuring them all up in a little box in my closet. J  Anyway, some of them are so cute that I have to share them with you.
On a side note, yes I realize there are more for Kara than for Lexi.  That’s because Kara is our inquisitive child, discovering her world through her words and Lexi is our adventure child, discovering her world by bumps, bruises and giving her mama heart-attacks.  Like the other day when she strapped herself into her booster seat at the table, leaned all the over to where she was dangling from the chair and said, “Look mama, I monkey.” Oh my!  Also, her cute kidism’s are still mostly just mispronounced words, like: Papa Steve is Pop Seve, or Grandpa is Gannpa.

Lexi- The seminary’s student center has some taxidermied animals on display. Nearly every time we go on a walk we have to stop in and see the animals.  On one of our walks Lexi took her BabyBear with her. When we got to the grizzly bear in the display, Lexi held up her BabyBear and said, “See you, Baby? See you?”
Lexi came out of her room wearing a bright yellow shirt, bright pink shorts and her red Elmo slippers, so I asked her, “Are you my little trendsetter?”  To which she replied, “No, I princess.”
Kara: “Mommy, did you steal? I saw you take another cookie.”
(I have got to learn to be more sneaky!)

Kara bit a grape in half and said, “Mom, did you know the inside of the grape is called fruit?”

Kara: "Can we go to heaven?"
Rachel: "Sure, but how do we get to heaven?"
Kara: "Well, maybe we can put our arms up and Phoebe can put her feet down and she will pull us up!"

At lunch Kara gave Lexi a chip and said, “This is my body, take and eat.” Then she handed Rachel her cup and said, “This is my drink, take and drink.”

It wasn’t windy outside so the flags were laying limp. Kara saw it and said, “Mama, did the ‘Merican flag have Jesus in its heart because now it died?” To which I had to sadly reply, “No, I don’t think most of America has Jesus in its heart.” So she said, “But we could pray for it.” Oh, that sweet girl!

The kids woke up earlier than usual and beat us out of bed. I came downstairs and saw Kara looking around on the couch. I asked what she was doing and she said, “I’m looking for Jesus. He was sleeping right here and the boy with the scratch face called Him and He waked up and went to help him. But now I can’t find Him.”  I realized she must have had such a vivid dream that she remembered it and thought it was real. We tried to explain that we can’t see Jesus with our eyes, He lives in our hearts. We see Him by the fruits, or good things, we do with our lives.  Kara then told us, “But I really want Him to sleep in our house."

That last story just happened this morning.
Then the girls went into the kitchen and drew pictures of themselves with Jesus.
Here is Kara's:
 And here is Lexi's:

And then after breakfast Kara was reading the Bible to Lexi.
I tried to get a picture, but Lexi decided to randomly become camera shy.

Bathtime fun.

She was saying, "Brr, I cold."

Ok, there's not really much of story behind this picture, but I'll tell it anyways.
I jammed my finger. While cleaning the kitchen. It was swollen and hurt really bad. Preston made me a splint. He is super sweet.
End of story.

I discovered the secret to getting Kara to stop biting her fingernails!
I painted them red, told her not to put her fingers in her mouth because the red will hurt her tummy, ta-da! No more fingernail biting.
(She was showing me her nails in this picure.)

She likes to go, "Say cheese" when I take her picture.

Ok, just going to brag on myself for a few moments.
I am taking the wives class here at the seminary this semester.
One of our big assignments was to give a 3-5 minute speech.
My speech was this past Tuesday.
Here's my "report card" from the professor.
J

Also, my husband requested that I make a cover for his kindle.

(I accidentally got the bottom of the heart a little to close to the bottom of the cross, and my OCD personality can't stop thinking about it.)

In other news, Today is kind of a special day for Preston and I. Two years ago tonight Preston confirmed God's calling on his life to go into ministry. Now here we are with one year done at seminary and lovin the Lord more everyday.
